Privacy Notice

Tarot Thread is operated by Liminal Foundry. This notice explains what we collect when you sign up and request readings, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. Plain English, no surprises.

What we collect

When you begin a reading, we collect: your email address; your name; your birth date; the question you ask the cards; the persona you choose; and your reading history on this account. When you buy credits, we also process your payment through Stripe (we never see your card number).

We collect technical data automatically: IP address, browser user agent, page views, and interaction events. This helps us understand how the site is used and which ads are working.

Why we collect it

Your name, birth date, and question shape the reading itself: birth date determines your sun sign and the astrological context layered into the cards. Your email is used to deliver the reading link and respond to support requests. Payment data is used to process the purchase. Technical data is used for analytics, security, and advertising attribution.

Who we share it with

We share specific data with the services that make the product work:

• Stripe, payment processing
• Resend, sending your sign-in links
• OpenAI, generating the reading narrative from the cards
• Google (Gemini), generating the spoken audio of your reading
• Supabase, storing your account and readings
• Vercel, hosting the site
• PostHog, product analytics
• Meta (Facebook), advertising attribution via the Meta Pixel and Conversions API. Personal identifiers shared with Meta are hashed (SHA-256).

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone outside of the services above.

Cookies and tracking

We use first-party cookies for authentication, analytics (PostHog), and advertising (Meta Pixel). You can block analytics and advertising cookies in your browser settings or via an ad blocker. The site will still work.

Retention

We keep your account and readings indefinitely, so you can return to your thread. You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing hello@tarothread.com. Deleted accounts are removed from our database; backups roll off within 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask us to send you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it. Email hello@tarothread.com and we will reply within a reasonable timeframe. If you are in a jurisdiction with privacy laws like the GDPR or CCPA, those rights apply.

Age

Tarot Thread is for adults. Do not use it if you are under 18.

Changes

If we update this notice we will change the effective date at the top. Material changes will be announced on the site.
